MV AQUARIUS ex MEERKATZE

April 2009:

HEMPEL SHIPPING GMBH has purchased the MV Aquarius, known as the Meerkatze from VEBEG. It was  a fishery protection vessel assigned to fight illegal fishing activity and overfishing. This fishery protection vessel was built to be technologically advanced because Germany wanted to be a leader in the fishing control industry. The Meerkatze was needed to preserve Germanys international liabilities and the cooperation with the EU.

 Vessel was converted to enter the marked for (equipment to be supplied by the charterer):

• SURVEY WORKS: cable route survey, pipe line survey, 2 D seismic site survey;
• GEOTECHNICAL WORKS: Gravity Corer, Vibro Corer, Cone penetration;
• FISHERY SURVEILLANCE VESSEL
